The Masters of Arts in Anthropology is a two years study which is designed to make graduate students to specialize in one of the concentration areas of their choice. The concentration areas are: Cultural or ethnographic Anthropology, Medical Anthropology, Biological Anthropology, Anthropology of Religion and Anthropological Archaeology. While students can choose their own area of research, they can also work along one of Paradigm University’s set of research projects aimed at exploring the rich ethnographic heritage of Ethiopians in view of harnessing them to the development of the nation. The Masters of Arts in Anthropology program is organized in 24 credit hours course work and a six credit hours anthropological Research project. The Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology program is designed to give students the fundamental concepts and practices of Anthropology. The program is organized in 120 credit hours course work which includes several seminars, field works and senior year internship. They will also get the impression of the vast areas of anthropological study areas and topics. In the undergraduate curriculum, they will take courses in anthropological Research methods, Medical Anthropology, Biological Anthropology, Anthropology of Religion and Anthropological Archaeology. A graduate from the department of Anthropology can get employment in a wide range of industries such as in hospitals, research institutes, museums, schools, community development agencies, parks, archaeological explorations, religious institutions and many other charity organizations whose jobs centers on humanity. For MA candidates
If you are a Bachelor degree in anthropology, or in any of the disciplines in social science, humanities or natural science, you are warmly welcome. this is because anthropology is a discipline which is known to its interdisciplinary nature.If you have a social science or humanities background, congratulations! you already have the fundamental knowledge and skills needed for your further study. However, if you come from natural science area, you probably require to take few bridging courses.
For BA candidates
If you would like to join our Bachelor of Arts Degree program in the Department of Anthropology, you should have a diploma, another Bachelor degree or you should have a high school completion certificate with a passing marks or cumulative grade point average (CGPA).
